Mohammad Darwish is the chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors at Aplicata. Mohammad has architected Aplicata’s strategy which is focused on breaking down barriers to adopting FPGA computing through integrated solutions. He has a deep understanding of customer requirements in the cloud services market, as well as systems-level understanding of how FPGAs work to form customer solutions.
Prior to Aplicata, Mohammad was CEO of AdvancedIO Systems where he led a ground-breaking team to introduce the first 10GE FPGA Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) accelerator solutions. Under Mohammad, the company significantly expanded its market share and technology leadership.
Prior to that, Mohammad served in various engineering roles with Spectrum Signal Processing where he designed real-time software-defined radios (SDRs) for the defense and commercial markets.
Mohammad holds a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering (EECE) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

Paul Russell is the chief technology officer and a member of the board of directors at Aplicata. A visionary and technology innovator, Paul is responsible for Aplicata’s technology strategy and driving product development to meet market needs.
Prior to Aplicata, Paul was the chief technology architect at AdvancedIO System where he led a team of over 20 professionals to deliver programmable 10GE FPGA products to defense and financial customers worldwide.
Prior to that, Paul was the director of hardware engineering at Convedia, acquired by Radisys, where he created technologies that are the basis for major conferencing systems used today in North America.
Paul is the author of patents in field of telecommunications. Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (EE) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
